About Danica
I’m a Bachelor of Medical Science graduate from the University of Sydney with a strong academic background in mathematics, statistics and the sciences.
I studied 4 Unit Mathematics in high school, followed by two years of university-level mathematics and statistics, and ranked in the top 2% nationally for quantitative reasoning in the STAT examination.
I have seven years of experience running my own private mathematics tutoring business, working with students of varying abilities and levels of confidence.
Mathematics has always been one of my strengths, particularly the logical reasoning and problem-solving involved. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts, identifying where understanding has been lost and helping students see how everything fits together.
I’m patient, analytical and thorough in my teaching, and take pride in helping students build the foundations and confidence needed to succeed independently.

My approach to teaching mathematics focuses on building strong foundations and developing a genuine understanding of mathematical concepts, rather than simply memorising formulas and procedures.
I believe mathematics should be taught as an interconnected subject, where each concept builds logically upon the last. My lessons focus on identifying and addressing gaps in foundational knowledge, helping students understand not just how to solve a problem, but why each method works.
By connecting different concepts and demonstrating how mathematical processes relate to one another, I help students develop a cohesive understanding of mathematics that makes increasingly complex topics easier to grasp.
My goal is to develop confident, independent problem-solvers who can apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions rather than relying on memorised methods.
