About Dillon
As a tutor, I pride myself on being approachable, patient, and committed to my students' success. My own academic journey, from achieving top grades at The Latymer Grammar School to studying Economics at the University of Bath, has given me first-hand experience of what it takes to excel in exams. I bring this understanding into every lesson, offering not only subject knowledge but also valuable insights into exam strategies and study techniques.
My goal is to create a positive, motivating environment where students feel supported and empowered to ask questions and overcome challenges. By focusing on each student's strengths and areas for improvement, I help them gain confidence, improve their skills, and ultimately achieve the results they're aiming for.

A bit about me:
I offer tutoring in Maths and Economics upto A-Level and support children prepare for their 11+ exams and SATs. I am an experienced tutor having tutored for the last 2 years in GCSE Maths, helping achieve 9s as well as also helping younger students pass their 7+ and 11+.
Teaching Approach and Methodology:
My tutoring style is student-centered, focusing on understanding each individual’s learning needs and adapting my approach to match their unique learning style. I believe in building a strong foundation by first ensuring my students thoroughly understand the core concepts. I then reinforce learning through practice questions and exam-style exercises, which not only build confidence but also improve problem-solving skills.
By creating a supportive environment, I help my students build confidence, ensuring they are comfortable completing homework and feel prepared for their lessons or exams.
Lesson Structure:
A typical lesson lasts 1 hour and is divided into two parts. Firstly I focus on ensure students understand the content where we'll focus on understanding new topics and reviewing past material to ensure a solid foundation. The second half of the lesson focuses on ensuring that students have grasped the content by practicing with exam-style questions. This helps students apply what they've learned and become familiar with the types of questions they’ll face in their exams.
Qualifications and Experience:
I am currently at the University of Bath, studying Economics. I previously attended a selective school, the Latymer Grammar School in London, where I achieved 8s and 9s in my GCSEs and A*AA in my A-Levels (Maths, Economics, and Chemistry).
My two years of tutoring experience have allowed me to develop a proven method that helps students succeed, whether they are working toward GCSEs, A-Levels, or entrance exams like the 11+ and SATs.
Who Are My Lessons For:
I provide tutoring for students of various levels including children preparing for the 11+ or SATs and those preparing for GCSE and A-Level Maths and Economics.
I make time to understand my students so I can ensure my teaching approach is tailored to each student’s needs and styles, ensuring they build confidence, improve their skills, and excel in their exams.
Whether your child is preparing for important entrance exams like the 11+ or SATs, or tackling GCSEs and A-Levels, I’m here to help them grasp key concepts and succeed.
My normal lesson length is 1 hour in which we would learn content and answer exam style practice questions.
