About Matt
After achieving A* A A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics respectively at A Level, I went on to do a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University. I graduated in 2019 and I’m currently working as a software developer.
I've been tutoring for 5+ years now with students studying from GCSE up to A Level.
Simply put, I really enjoy problem solving and it’s great to see students develop skills and understanding that I’ve helped build. So if you'd like help with maths from someone who will support you in your learning, please do get in touch!

A typical lesson would likely consist of us working through practice questions that you find challenging. Solving different styles and varieties of problems allows you to apply and consolidate your understanding.
I always encourage students to not be afraid of asking questions if they're unsure on something, and I'm more than happy to reexplain or go back to basics when necessary.
I find that giving a bit more background knowledge of a topic or demonstrating how topics overlap with one another often leads to a student having a eureka moment where different parts of the puzzle start fitting together. Where appropriate, I will try to incorporate this into lessons as it's very helpful for students and is not something that schools seem to spend a lot of time on.
