My name is Swalem. I graduated from University of Dallas (not to be confused with UTD!) with a bachelor's degree in Biology. Although my studies were in the sciences, my goal was always to teach. My main inspiration was my high school biology teacher. She was fun, passionate, inspirational, etc. Because of her, not only did I study her same field, but also followed in her exact footsteps towards education. I am thrilled to say I succeeded, however, I found my passion in teaching mathematics and Spanish! I have been teaching ever since I graduated college in 2018. My teaching has been in both informal and formal classroom settings and with various age groups (from 1st grade to 12th grade). I have also tutored and provided academic support for my students, allowing for a more personal and tailored learning experience in accordance to each child's needs. I believe that each student should be allowed the opportunity to learn according to his/her strengths and styles, and I always strive to provide a personalized lesson focusing on their motivations and skills. My expertise is with elementary and middle school math (including high school Algebra I), and elementary, middle, and high school Spanish. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and I look forward to getting to know you!
