About Aysha
As someone who has personally navigated the challenges of dyslexia, I understand the frustrations and triumphs that come with learning. My experience has fueled my passion for teaching and has given me a unique perspective on the importance of patience, understanding, and tailored instruction. With 7 years of experience teaching math and science up to 6th grade, and a degree in education, I’ve developed strategies that make learning accessible and enjoyable for all students, especially those who face similar struggles.
I’ve had the privilege of working in both general and special education, where I’ve helped students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. As a tutor, my approach centers around making learning personalized, engaging, and accessible for every student. My goal is to meet students where they are, providing support and challenge tailored to their individual needs.
A typical lesson plan begins with an assessment of the student's current understanding, followed by setting clear, achievable objectives for the session. I then introduce new concepts using visual aids, manipulatives, and step-by-step explanations, ensuring that the student can connect new information to what they already know. Throughout the lesson, I encourage active participation, asking questions and prompting the student to think critically about the material. I wrap up the session with a review of what we've covered, reinforcing key points and providing additional practice or resources if needed.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my dedication to fostering a positive, growth-oriented mindset in my students. I focus on building their confidence, celebrating their progress, and helping them develop problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom.
