About Yue
I graduated from the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Shanghai Normal University in 2014. I achieved a Bachelor of Laws with the major of social work, and Bachelor of Management as the second degree in the subject of human resources in the same year. In 2019, with 2000 pounds of scholarship, I entered Cardiff University in Wales, UK to study global culture, I have graduated in March 2021. I am a native-bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. I can read and write both simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese. I started to learn English when I was six years old. According to IELTS test held by the British Council, my English ability, in general, is on C1, with the full mark in listening which is 9, and 8 in reading, 7(advanced level) in speaking. My comprehension in terms of history, culture, language, communication, writing and speeching is reliable. Besides, I played the Chinese national dance and gained coach certificate, which let me be a part-time Chinese dance coach for three years. I also obtained a licence of grade 7 in Chinese harp. I believe my over ten years of learning experience in dance and musical instruments will be a bonus to my capability. My primary education in Shanghai was about sociology, covering subjects of Psychology, History of Human Development, Praxiology, the introduction of western sociological ideas to China and matters localisation. My second undergraduate major, human resources, helps me have more extensive knowledge to deal with people and different communities. With my bright mind and extroverted personality, I managed to win a wide range of reputation within my almost five years career in Shenzhen. I have been a good teacher/trainer and manage in civil service, foreign business consulting and language training. My long-term experience of working with foreigners and my current postgraduate education make me desire to contribute to this intercultural society.

I base my class on various language materials such as cartoons, comic books and official teaching materials of HSK. I will teach new beginners from Pinyin and simple basic Chinese characters. I make sure my students learn Chinese from a solid, essential and fundamental basis just like all Chinese kids in their primary school so that my students will pick up the language correctly and effectively, avoiding language gaps in grammar. For medium learners, I will explore Chinese cultures, slang, idioms and folk arts with them in my class.

Perfect! It's really a blessing to meet someone so passionate about what they do. I cannot recommend Yue enough.

Perfect! Yue is excellent. She is patient but also happy to tell you when you are pronouncing things incorrectly which is needed. She has helped us learn the different tones when speaking which is making it a lot easier to learn along the way now. She has also given us great suggestions of books and other learning materials outside of our lessons. Strongly recommend to anyone who wants to learn Mandarin!!!

Yue is a patient and very capable tutor and has an ability to make learning a fun enterprise, which is a great way to learn a new language. She is thorough and works at the speed of the pupil, always explaining nuances in a relaxed manner. Cannot thank her enough!
Yue is a fantastic tutor for learning Chinese. She is always very enthusiastic and happy to answer questions. Her English is very good and is good at explaining things. She often teaches me a lot about the culture and history of China as well as the language. Yue has extensive knowledge of both the Chinese and English language. She is able to articulate explanations in a simple and easy way, which significantly accelerates the learning process. I have been struggling with mandarin for a while now, and Yue breaks down complex sentences into easy, understandable phrases. She also explains Chinese grammar in a consistent and user friendly way. She is extremely patient and answers questions fully, she always ensures that I have a full and deep understanding before moving onto the next topic. She has a great sense of humour and makes learning very enjoyable. She is consistent and professional, which shines through in her teaching methods. I honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with my language learning; anybody that chooses to learn with Yue is in extremely capable and experienced hands.
I think Yue would be a wonderful tutor for those who have limited knowledge of Chinese. Her English is quite good and her accent isn't too bad. I have worked with her off and on for a few months and she incorporates the culture and history behind some phrases and words to help it make sense in context. Working with her will help you develop your language skills as far as you want to take them.
