About Xavi
I am currently in my second year of studying English Literature and Politics at the University of Edinburgh, whilst I am originally from North London. I fully understand how important inspiring teaching is and design my lessons to cultivate curiosity and intrigue in some of the most relevant ideas to the past or contemporary world.
My lessons are designed to be fun, engaging and to pique curiosity in the humanities, whilst also aiming towards the highest grades possible.

My lessons can vary at length depending on respective need, but would generally go from 45 to 90 minutes. My techniques include support with practice papers and study skills - particularly for pupils struggling with attention and interest. My aim is to not only help with excelling in examinations, but cultivating an active interest in the topics; undivided attention and curiosity is the first step to academic success!
I can work at a range of levels up to degree standard, but particularly specialise in English Lit/Language and History (GCSE + A-level/Pre-U), Music (GCSE or alternatively piano lessons up to grade 6) and Politics (A-Level). I also have extensive experience working with year 7s to year 10 in these subjects.
I have several years experience as a tutor and marking practice papers for students focusing on English Literature/Language, History, Politics and Music. I achieved high A* grades at A-Level in these subjects and have an active interest in learning more to improve my quality of teaching. My degree at the University of Edinburgh in English Lit/Politics is widely intersectional and provides a platform to expand my interest in other social sciences and humanities, which enhances my lessons.
