About Meghan
I am 7-12 grade mathematics and special education certified in New York State. I have been a teacher for thirteen years and have taught Algebra every year. I am extremely familiar with the NYS Algebra Regents exam and have taught skills classes that help develop test taking and calculator strategies for the exams.

My teaching methods are based on how a student learns best, whether it be auditory, visual, kinesthetic, or a combination. A typical lesson starts off by reviewing previous skill sets that will be necessary for the lesson's objective. I then present the lesson through step by step processes that students can follow and use as a check list. I like to go through multiple examples with students where I gradually reduce my role as the teacher and become more of a facilitator. At the end, I have the students complete an Exit Ticket, which could be a problem similar to the ones completed in the lesson or a writing prompt to describe how they feel with the lesson. Due to my teaching experience as a special educator, I constantly have to come up with new ways to teach lessons and differentiate instruction. My lessons are typically for ninth grade Algebra classes that are gearing up for the NYS Regents exams with or without special education accommodations.
