About Joe
I have an MA in Creative Writing, a BS in Psychology, and a BA in Education. I was a tenured high school English teacher, taught college Writing courses, and taught English as a Foreign Language in Italy. I've had great success teaching writing skills, particularly 5-paragraph essays, and editing and refining content. Students requested me specifically when I was a Graduate Assistant for help with essays, I still have friends I made teaching English in Italy, and was a favorite teacher among my high school students for years.

My teaching approach is collaborative. I believe we can all learn something from everyone we meet. I value my students' opinion and their desire to express their beliefs and help facilitate this. I understand, through experience, the challenges of living in a country where one is not proficient with the language. I mastered 5 paragraph essays and college admission essays, also, through the challenging experience of repeatedly completing and polishing them. I'm empathetic toward people rising to these challenges and have been able to aid them. That feels good. Creative Writing is an art to me and making art with someone is a beautiful thing.
