About Jacob
Passionate about mathematics and a graduate from the University of Kent. I am here to help others along their studies by making maths simple and fun. I have previous experience of tutoring students and have been doing so for about a year. I am understanding and easy to talk to, I encourage students to ask questions as this is the best way to learn on topics you may find difficult. I aim to make each individual student reach their full potential by giving the support they need in the key areas of weakness which need improving. I am familiar with the new syllabus for maths and the differences between the exam boards. I believe exam technique is vital if you would like to achieve the best grades possible, I believe it is very important to be comfortable with the exam style questions and not to panic!

Once I have got to know the student and identified areas of strength and weakness, it is then easier to plan the most effective way to improve key areas and which order to do topics in. A typical session with me would consist of firstly, a starter to refresh your memory of what we studied the previous session or going through the completed questions which I set the previous session. We would then go through a few examples of the next topic, I'd encourage you to ask questions on ANYTHING you were not sure of. Once we've been through this and you are comfortable with the topic you will now try an exercise on your own, this is the best way to learn. Then practice, practice and more practice !
