About Maya
¡Hola! I’m a fully qualified Spanish teacher (QTS & PGCE) with a degree in Applied Linguistics. I have 3+ years’ experience teaching Spanish across all levels — from hobby learners to GCSE and A-level students. In addition to having studied and lived in Spain, I have also taught across all key stages in the UK education system, mainly at secondary schools and colleges. I am happy to tailor the lesson to meet your needs. I have been passionate about languages since I can remember. Linguistics and Spanish is my jam. I believe learning a new language can help us be more understanding and human to each other, as we not only learn a different language, but we also learn new ways of thinking and seeing the world. We learn culture. I speak 5 languages - English, Spanish, Czech, Slovak and French. Each one of them helped me to discover something new about myself. It will be my pleasure to share my knowledge and passion for languages with you, and I am looking forward to what we can learn from each other :)

My lessons are interactive, fun, and focused on your goals. Whether you want to pass exams with confidence, improve your conversation skills, or start learning Spanish from scratch, I’ll make sure you enjoy the process. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, and you can expect games, online tools, cultural videos and lots of speaking practice. I don't believe in never-ending boring repetitions; learning Spanish can be so much fun! I’m based in Brighton and happy to offer both online and face-to-face lessons. Let’s make it happen! :)
