About Ishaani
Hello! I'm an English tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing with a focus in Applied Linguistics. I specialise in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), supporting students as they prepare for and succeed in higher education. My teaching is centred on helping learners understand academic texts, follow lectures, and express complex ideas clearly in writing. I’ve worked closely with university students and international learners, guiding them through the challenges of academic English. Whether it’s writing a research paper or giving a presentation, I provide clear, structured support every step of the way. I focus on building academic vocabulary, strengthening grammar, and improving coherence in writing. My lessons include practical training in referencing, note-taking, and organising arguments effectively. I help students feel confident using academic language in both writing and speech. We also practise critical reading and summarising skills to support deep comprehension. Each session is tailored to the learner’s goals and level, with step-by-step guidance and useful resources. My English teaching approach is focused, practical, and supportive. I design each lesson to meet the learner’s real-life needs—whether for study, work, or daily communication. I help students build strong grammar foundations with simple explanations and lots of practice. For speaking, I focus on fluency and natural expression through conversation, role-play, and guided speaking tasks. I use everyday topics to help learners gain confidence and sound more natural in real situations. For writing, we work on sentence structure, clarity, and organising ideas, so learners can write with ease and purpose. Many of my students need English for tests, school, or starting fresh in a new country. I support them by building vocabulary, correcting gently, and helping them feel ready for any challenge. Listening and speaking activities are designed to boost comfort in both formal and informal settings. Each session includes real examples, step-by-step guidance, and a warm, patient pace. I love helping learners grow in both skill and confidence. With the right support, anyone can succeed in English.
