About Elena
I work in Communications within Higher Education and have worked in the sector for more than 3 years, and have over 5 years of professional writing experience.
I hold a postgraduate and a BA in English literature. I have always loved reading and writing. My unique combination of both professional and academic expertise in writing and communication helps me to be a highly effective and approachable communicator. I have a strong understanding of education from primary to tertiary level, the evolving needs of the students of today, and best practices within teaching.
I spend much of my spare time reading and writing creatively, so tutoring is more of a passion to me than it is work!

My lessons are all tailored to the needs of the student. I am a friendly, open communicator who believes in the power of an effective and passionate teacher.
The preliminary session will provide a safe space for students to share their thoughts, concerns, and goals. Subsequently, I will provide a series of lesson plans to help in achieving these objectives, taking an open-minded approach to different learning and communication methods throughout.
A typical lesson will begin with a short discussion of any challenges or areas of interest. We will then delve into the lesson's topic, starting with a short presentation from myself to condense the themes and exploring any key areas in more detail. Then, I will discuss any thoughts or observations with the students before moving on to some engaging exercises to solidify the content discussed.
I am also happy to provide support with academic work such as feedback on essays, including proofreading services, and working closely with students to identify key areas of improvement.
