About Shelley
My name is Shelley Valentine and I just finished my eleventh year of teaching. Teaching, nurturing, and inspiring children is my passion. I absolutely love working with younger children and thoroughly enjoy helping to foster a love of school and a lifelong love of learning within my students. I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education, language arts, as well as early child development and I also received a master's in reading degree. I am a 5th Generation Teacher – My Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother were all teachers. My experience spans from Kindergarten Prep to 3rd grade. I enjoy creating hands-on and interactive learning experiences that are tailored to each child's individual needs. I’m so excited to get to know you and your child and to help prepare them to be successful and confident in school!

Students are as unique as their fingerprints. Each has needs to be attended to, and talents to be developed. In order to teach individually, a student must be known, individually. I take the time and the steps necessary to learn and to know my students and their families, as best as I possibly can. I engage the families and elicit in. Fostering a love of learning and excitement to be in tutoring is one of the many pleasures of teaching little ones and is an essential part of their educational journey.
