About Frank
I am an experienced Economics tutor, having previously taught for several years in an independent school, as well as tutoring independently. I have a great track record - over the past 10 years, all but one of my private students have gained A*, A or B. I am an Economics examiner for Edexcel and have also examined for AQA. I have a degree in Economics from Cambridge and an MBA from London Business School) as well as over 25 years' experience running small businesses and advising small business owners. Since the pandemic I hsve been teaching almost exclusively online. If face to face lessons are preferred, they take place at my home. Economics teacher in London. I try to make the sessions relaxed, fun and engaging, while at the same time making sure that the subject matter and exam techniques are thoroughly absorbed, particularly with essay-writing. Where possible I use real-life topical examples, such as analysis of the first Labour budget with the huge increase in taxes.

Perfect! Exceptional, an emphatic 5 stars
My son came to Frank not really knowing how he felt about Economics. He was not comfortable in the subject and it seemed like he wasn’t enjoying it. He left with not just greatly improved understanding (and marks), but a real enthusiasm for the subject, and a wish to study it at university. It has been wonderful to see his confidence grow, and Frank’s patient guidance and experience has played a huge part in my son’s embrace of the subject. He has always been available to help and look at his work outside the lessons, and Frank’s examiner insights were always valuable. Before working with Frank he was predicted a B. He got an A*. Frank has been supporting my son prepare for his Economics A level. My son was very resistant to a tutor, however this obstacle was overcome after his first lesson. My son likes the way Frank brings the economics to life through real world examples, and how he can guide him to where the most marks are to be had. I really appreciate the post lesson feedback, guidance for revision, and sharing of example questions to support to application of a revised topic. I feel that Frank goes beyond the 60 minute billable transaction. We feel lucky to have 'digitally' bumped into Frank.
Frank tutored both our children with considerable success, our daughter in Economics, our son in Business Studies. The effect Frank had on both was transformative, providing clear and focused teaching with the perfect balance of support and high expectation for work to be done.
Frank really has a good understanding of economics and the business world and uses real-life examples to support my understanding. He also knows about the differences between the different A level board requirements.
