About Maya

I am a Chemistry tutor with more than 3 years of teaching and laboratory experience, supported by an MSc in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. My teaching focuses on analytical chemistry and building student confidence in both theoretical and practical skills. I specialize in chromatography, including HPLC, GC, and TLC, teaching students how to interpret chromatograms, retention times, and separation efficiency. Spectroscopy instruction covers UV–Vis, IR, and NMR, helping students connect observed data with molecular structures. I also teach titrations, emphasizing endpoint detection, reagent handling, and measurement accuracy. Experimental design is a key part of my lessons; students learn to plan experiments, control variables, and create reliable methods. Data analysis is central, including calibration curves, concentration calculations, and error evaluation. I have experience working with chemistry lab students and learners preparing for quality assurance or research careers. Lessons also include method validation, quality control procedures, and documentation practices. I aim to make complex techniques understandable while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students gain confidence in performing experiments, interpreting data, and understanding underlying principles. I enjoy seeing learners grow into precise and analytical thinkers. There is a unique satisfaction in obtaining reliable, reproducible results, and I love sharing the joy of chemical measurement and analysis with students.

This methodology emphasizes analytical review, structured learning, and practical application. Core topics include macromolecules, enzyme kinetics, metabolic pathways, and broader biochemistry concepts. Lessons use case studies to demonstrate chemical principles in real-life biological systems. Students explore enzymatic mechanisms, molecular interactions, and pathway regulation. Zoologists and botanists receive examples directly relevant to their fields, enhancing comprehension. Analytical review sessions highlight misconceptions and reinforce core understanding. Learners practice interpreting biochemical data, evaluating pathways, and predicting outcomes. Stepwise problem-solving exercises develop logical reasoning and critical thinking. Personalized feedback helps students achieve academic excellence. Lessons combine theory, application, and analytical exercises for mastery. Students gain confidence in understanding complex biochemical processes. The approach ensures lessons are structured, engaging, and rewarding. By the end, learners refine their knowledge and achieve clarity in life’s chemical processes.
