About Philip
I am an enthusiastic and experienced teacher.
In previous teaching roles I have established myself as a conscientious, respected and personable member of the school. I worked in the Chemistry department and Combined Cadet Force to support, strengthen and improve them. The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, Chapel and music ensembles also had my support.
My appraisals have shown me to be successful and enthusiastic as well as recognizing my ability to lead with confidence and inspire colleagues and students.
Students have always sought my advice or shared their concerns and dreams with me – in the field or minibus, on the range or walking the hills. Some students, particularly those in the Sixth Form have lingered after a lesson for ‘a chat’ to clarify points raised in the lesson or ask my advice on some science matter that is extra-curricular.
Within the Sixth Form I have helped students prepare for university entrance, advising them regarding their choice of course, Personal Statement or the interview as appropriate.
I have taught boys and girls and mixed classes. I am familiar with AQA GCSE, Edexcel GCSE & IGCSE and OCR A level. I have privately tutored all sciences, all Boards at GCSE and Chemistry at A level and am a Senior Examiner for one of the UK Boards, an examiner for an International Board.
