About Mariluz
I am an experienced Spanish and elementary teacher. I have a strong K-5 math and literacy background and I also taught Spanish and ESL in elementary and Middle Schools in WA and abroad. I currently tutor students in Math, Reading, and Spanish in person and virtually. I have developed bilingual programs and enjoyed teaching languages.

My students start speaking and communicating from the beginning. My lessons use comprehensible input and Total Physical Response teaching the language through authentic topics/thematic units. I
taught English Language Learners literacy and language through content supporting them in developing language skills through lessons based on comprehensible input and familiar topics. I design my learning plan tailored to the student's ability level and learning style. I teach students to communicate orally, in writing, reading, and listening, providing opportunities to develop vocabulary and speaking in every lesson. Grammar can be a focus but is usually imbedded in my lessons.
