About Subomi
Hi there! I'm Subomi, a Cambridge University medical student with a strong background in chemistry, biology, and mathematics (I achieved A*A*A* in A Level Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics). I offer comprehensive tutoring services for GCSE and A-level students in these subjects, as well as GCSE Physics (I achieved grade 9s in all subjects mentioned).
My tutoring approach focuses on creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment. I tailor my teaching methods to suit each student's unique needs and learning style, designing personalized lesson plans to help them achieve their academic goals. I believe in making learning enjoyable and exciting, using interactive activities and real-life examples to bring abstract concepts to life.
With experience tutoring GCSE students and helping peers during A Levels, I have developed patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing learning environment. I celebrate small victories, encourage perseverance, and find innovative ways to engage and motivate students, such as incorporating fun learning games.
I also have experience working with children who have learning difficulties through my work with the Literacy Pirates. This experience has enhanced my teaching abilities, enabling me to break down complex concepts into simpler, more manageable steps. I incorporate visual aids and focus on phonetic patterns to support dyslexic students effectively.
I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and effective tutoring, empowering students to succeed while fostering a love for learning.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. At the start, I identify the areas the student finds most challenging and focus on building a strong understanding of the underlying concepts. I aim to explain topics clearly and break down difficult ideas into simple, manageable steps.
During sessions we usually begin by reviewing key concepts, followed by working through exam-style questions together. This helps students learn how to apply their knowledge and develop the problem-solving techniques needed for exams. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and aim to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable working through problems and making mistakes.
Where helpful, I can also suggest practice questions or areas to review between sessions to reinforce what we have covered. Overall, my focus is on helping students build confidence, improve their exam technique, and develop a deeper understanding of Maths and Science.
