About Emilie
As a native French speaker who grew up in France, I bring authentic language and cultural knowledge to my teaching. My professional journey took me from France to New Zealand, and now Australia, where I've been since 2023.
I hold a French teaching diploma in primary and early childhood education, as well as a Maitrise in Languages, specializing in French as a foreign language. With more than 15 years of experience, I have taught students of all ages and levels in various educational environments.

My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a relaxed yet productive atmosphere where you can practice French without hesitation. I incorporate diverse activities like authentic conversations, creative storytelling, and engaging language exercises to help you become confident using French in everyday situations. By making our sessions interactive and enjoyable, you'll naturally develop practical language skills that you can apply immediately.
A typical class focuses on developing all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. However, I adapt my teaching style to your learning goals and needs: whether you're learning for academic purposes, professional development, or personal interest, I'll create a customized learning plan. From mastering pronunciation to building vocabulary, strengthening grammar, or developing natural conversation skills, your learning path will be uniquely designed around your goals.
I've successfully taught students from beginner to advanced levels. I've helped students succeed in DELF and DALF certifications, IBDP, SACE and TCF Canada. I've worked with young children from 3 years old, teenagers, adults and seniors, tailoring my methods to suit different learning styles and objectives.

Perfect! My wife and I are in our 70s and are studying French for the pleasure of trying to improve our communications in such a beautiful language. We do weekly joint lessons with Emilie for 1.5 hours and, even though we are at different levels, she is very skilled at handling that difference and keeps us both fully and effectively engaged using a combination of French and English appropriate and helpful for our respective stages of learning. We are thoroughly enjoying the experience.
