About Esme
I have been over 3 years’ of tutoring experience, gaining a wide breadth of experience. I have tutored both online and in person, adapting to the goals of my students. I have tutored talented children to ace their 11+ exams, supported those who needed extra help to secure vital passes in their GCSE's and motivated A Level student to reach for the A*'s in order to enter top British Universities.
I am a first class graduate from Imperial College London, with a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering. I have always aimed for the top: I was awarded three scholarships during my degree as well as captaining my sports team and competing in a further two sports disciplines. Therefore I understand the pressures which my students face and enjoy helping them balance their workload and stretching their ambitions for what they believe is possible.
I have professional experience as a software engineer, having worked at Deloitte Digital, Deliveroo and two startups, so very happy to give careers guidance in this space. I am on a career break - having just finished cycling across Europe and Asia, fundraising for charity, and am tutoring to reconnect with my love of sharing knowledge with others. I am available to support students through the summer term and crucial exam periods, and into the next academic year.
Maths and physics tuition is my forte, but I also have experience teaching a wider range of subjects, particularly to younger students.
Together with my students, I make a plan for what support suits their needs best. Let me help you to enhance your learning!

I always approach my first class with a new student with an open mindset: I aim to understand their goals and ambitions so that we can work together to form a plan of action for how they will achieve these. We will then review their progress along this plan regularly over the following weeks.
I like to focus on building a strong foundation for students in the subject in order to support them as their knowledge develops, as I believe it is important to master the basics to have confidence with the more complicated content which they will approach later. Previous students have thanked me for my patience, as I always ensure the students' understanding before moving on.
