About David
My name is David Doherty. I hold both undergraduate and masters degree in Economics. I have achieved high grades and rankings in all my third level education. I have not always been a talented student, I think this makes me a more effective tutor as I understand the stumbling block in learning more intimately than a naturally talented student. I am confident in my ability to teach Economics and Econometrics at any level and I also feel comfortable teaching mathematics at all levels of secondary school due to high quantitative emphasis of my third level education.

In short, I use the demonstration learning approach. This essentially means that I teach by using real-life examples that are easy to remember to gain the initial concept. Once the initial concept is understood, I work through examples of questions whilst engaging with my students so they understand the process. By doing this, we are actively engaging the brain rather than simply copying notes from the whiteboard.
