About Paul
I am a certified ESL tutor and have been one with Reading Works for over6 years. I did that part-time while working with the Forest Service before retiring there. I love teaching English and am trilingual (English, Spanish and Hungarian). I am an America native English speaker and reside in California, USA. I currently take Skype online with an Hungarian tutor who is a native Hungarian speaker and who resides in Budapest, Hungary.
Before tutoring in the English language and before retiring in the computer industry I I graduated with a BA in English. I was also at various times a part-time teacher with computer schools during my computer job. While in the Computer industry I was a full-time teacher in subjects regarding computers. After retiring I served as a substitute teacher in grades K through 12. .Later, I decided to expand my understanding about tutoring in the English language and graduated with a Master’s degree whose focus was in ESL. I also obtained my TESOL certification.

My approach is to use various tutoring techniques such as Total Physical Response (TPR), Negation, Substitution etc. Also, if there is a problem with engaging the student(s) I would use games and other activities that would be teaching the student(s) along with getting them more engaged in the learning process.
