About Gitta
My name is Gitta, and I am an experienced, passionate and devoted music teacher, who offers lessons in violin at all levels and abilities.
I recently graduated with a BMus in Violin Performance and a BA in Psychology from Bard College Conservatory of Music in New York, which I attended on a full scholarship.
I started competing in national and international violin competitions as early as the age of 9, so I am extremely aware of the pressure that is often put on musicians to perform perfectly at all times. As a soloist, I have performed at venues such as Teatro La Fenice (Venice), the Mozarteum (Salzburg), Queens Hall (Edinburgh) and the Fisher Center (Annandale On Hudson, NY). As recent winner of the Bard Conservatory Concerto Competition, I will also be performing Hartmann's Concerto Funebre this coming Spring (if COVID-19 allows) with The Orchestra Now at the Fisher Center in Annandale On Hudson, New York.
I know how important a holistic education is to achieving success in this way, and I am committed to pass down my knowledge to my students!

As an educator, I am committed to providing a holistic approach to my students, taking into account the student’s background, interest and goals. I use a combination of the Suzuki and the Auer method, again, customizing these two approaches to my students personally. Most importantly, I aim to share my love for music with my students by creating a patient, motivating and positive atmosphere.
