About Kaleb
Kia ora, I'm Kaleb! I'm 20 and in my second year of a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Canterbury, majoring in History. Any of my friends will tell you I'm a bit of a history geek, and I love talking about how the past has shaped the way we live and think today.
After my degree, I plan to train as a high school History teacher, so tutoring is a chance to start doing what I love now. For me, history isn't about memorizing dates. It's about understanding why things happened, interpreting evidence and asking questions. I want to help students think for themselves, look at the world from different perspectives and feel confident sharing their own ideas.

I'm a History student at the University of Canterbury with a strong interest in social history: how societies, cultures and political ideas have shaped the world we live in. My studies in anthropology, sociology and philosophy mean I can bring different perspectives to a topic, helping students see the bigger picture rather than just memorising dates and events.
In my lessons, I focus on explaining ideas clearly and making history feel relevant and interesting. I tailor each session to the student, whether that's understanding a tricky topic, analysing sources, structuring essays or preparing for exams. As a current university student, I can also draw on up-to-date research and resources to support learning.
My goal is to help students build confidence, think critically and enjoy history as much as I do.
