About Isla
I'm Isla, a gap-year student passionate about education, environmental sustainability and social justice. I will be beginning my degree in Geography at the University of Cambridge next year.
Having received A*A*A* at A level, I have lots of academic interests and a curiosity for learning new things. I would love to be able to share this with young people, and find out more about their own interests and passions whilst helping them through their next steps in education e.g. GCSEs, A levels.
The responsibility of being a mentor/tutor to a younger students is not something that I take lightly. I have worked as a football coach for the past 2 years and this has ignited my interest in teaching/education -a sector that I would consider exploring in the future as a career.
I also have an in-date enhanced DBS check which I would be happy to share.

Having received an A* in A level Maths, as well as grade 9s in Maths and Further Maths at GCSE, I am confident that I will be able to use my recent academic experiences to provide high-quality and effective tutoring.
I believe the best way to do well in maths is to strive to understand the logic behind it, and therefore when tutoring I will aim to do exactly this - rather than focusing only on short-term memorisation. And, most importantly, I will foster my student's confidence in their mathematic ability (which they often underestimate) by getting to know their interests, strengths and weaknesses in a friendly and enthusiastic way.
My lesson will be 1 hour in length and I am flexible to work around your schedule, and adapt session plans and length to your needs.
