About Patricia
I am a firm believer in letting students guide their learning as they know how they learn best! I try to be as flexible as possible in my approach to lessons as education is not a "one size fits all" experience, and occasionally a personalised session can go a long way compared with traditional methods of teaching.
I have tutored in schools, homes and worked with SEN students in a college setting, all of which has given me a good idea on what students need from me as their tutor. Ideally, one-to-one sessions will make up the brunt of my work, however I am used to tutoring in singles, pairs and larger groups.
I believe that my educational background makes me uniquely able to approach communicating educational material in non-standard formats which aid memory and understanding of harder to grasp topics, such as Organic Chemistry and GI physiology. Currently, I am studying Nutrition and Dietetics, so am more than happy to tutor Science subjects, but do have experience tutoring English and Maths also. My SEN work is non-specific, and as someone with SENs myself, I can empathise and adapt teaching to meet a student's needs.
