About Aubrey
If you choose to work with me, you come first! I take student success personally, and I strive my hardest to meet the student where they are at and then see what skills we need to work on. If you have an essay assignment and don't have the first idea of how to tackle it, I can help! I have worked in higher education for twenty-two years, in capacities from Administrative Assistant to Adjunct Faculty in English. Currently, I am an Instructional Assistant, and I work with professors and students in mythology courses, various humanities courses, and freshman English courses. I love to write essays on literature and I am writing my own novel. I am the go-to writer and editor for many friends who need web copy, ghostwriters, or a nicely written thank you card. I have both a B.A. and M.A. in English literature, and I have devoted my life to helping students learn to read and write. I am also always advancing my own skills, because life is for learning.

Because I love what I do, I have so much enthusiasm to help you! I use many techniques to help students become better writers. From exercises and lessons that cover word choice, essay structure, quote integration, reading comprehension, and mastering MLA or APA formatting, I teach very practical and necessary skills. I can work with any high school or college/university student to write an essay that is not only correct in form and function but properly formatted as well. While much of my focus is freshman and sophomore-level English composition, I have extensive skills in academic writing for the humanities, including arts and literature. My students don't just do, but they learn and carry the skills into the future, as research and writing skills are needed in any field of study or work. Investing in your writing skills and leveling up is one of the best things a student can do for success in their education.
