• ¿Qué te motiva a hacer lo que haces y por qué?

  Lo que me motiva a hacer lo que hago es buscar cosas que me mueven, que me apasionen y que me ayudan a crecer como persona. Me encanta viajar, conocer culturas y ver otras formas de ver la vida. Por eso, veo los idiomas como una oportunidad para hacer todo esto y aprender.
  Por otra parte, llevo cerca de un año como tutora de inglés y he encontrado la enseñanza como algo fascinante que me permite no solo enseñar algo que me gusta, sino que también me permite ayudar a las personas, reforzar mis conocimientos y aprender cosas nuevas del idioma y de mis alumnos.
  
  ENGLISH VERSION:
  What motivates me to do what I do is to find the things that move me, things that excite me and make me grow as a person. I love to travel, to learn about cultures, and see other ways of looking at life. That is why I see languages as an opportunity to do all of this and learn.
  On the other hand, I have been an English tutor for about a year, and I have found teaching fascinating. It allows me not only to teach something that I like but also allows me to help people, reinforce my knowledge, and learn new things about language and my students.

• ¿Quién te inspira a profundizar tu materia? ¿Tienes algún modelo a seguir? Cuéntanos el porqué.

  Además de los idiomas, me encanta la ciencia y la ingeniería y veo el inglés como un medio para tener acceso a distintas fuentes de información en estas áreas.
  Actualmente, con la globalización y la influencia de la cultura anglosajona, mucha de la información que está en internet y en los libros, se encuentra solamente en inglés, por lo que saber este idioma me permite acceder a información nueva y conectarme con el mundo.
  Con respecto a la segunda pregunta, no tengo un modelo a seguir. Hay varias personas a las que admiro por sus ideales y aportes al conocimiento y siento que cada una de ella me ha ensañado algo distinto. Sin embargo, siempre estoy en búsqueda de nuevas fuentes de conocimiento y nuevas personas, para mejorar como persona, como tutora, como estudiante y como hablante del inglés.
  
  ENGLISH VERSION:
  Besides languages, I love science, and engineering and I see English as a means of accessing different sources of information in these areas.
  Currently, with globalization and the influence of Anglo-Saxon culture, much of the information that is on the internet and in books is only in English, so knowing this language allows me to access new information and connect with the world.
  Regarding the second question, I do not have a role model. There are several people who I admire for their ideals and contributions to knowledge, and I feel each of those people has taught me something different. However, I am always looking for new sources of knowledge and new people to improve as a person, as a tutor, as a student, and as an English speaker.

• ¿Qué aporta tu profesión/materia a la sociedad?

  Además del acceso a la información, es una oportunidad de crecimiento personal y de forma profesional, ya que, para cosas como un negocio, una investigación o un proyecto, es importante el reconocimiento internacional, para lo cual se necesita una comunicación en un idioma en común como el inglés, un idioma que se enseña en la mayoría de los países. Adicionalmente, el aprendizaje de un segundo idioma ayuda mucho como ejercicio mental, ya que permite el desarrollo del cerebro.
  
  ENGLISH:
  In addition to access to information, it is an opportunity for personal and professional growth, since, for things such as a business, research, or a project, international recognition is essential. For this purpose, communication in a common language such as English is needed, a language taught in most countries. Additionally, learning a second language helps a lot like a mental exercise since it allows brain development.

• ¿Una anécdota para contarnos de tus años como estudiante o de alguna de tus clases?

  Cuando estaba en el colegio, aunque me iba bien, veía muchas materias que no tenían mucho sentido para mí, eran aburridas y las tomaba solo como una obligación. Cuando inicié el décimo grado, conocí a dos profesores, un profesor de inglés y otro de química y ellos cambiaron mi perspectiva. Ambos usaban métodos de enseñanza distintos, pero ambos me hicieron tomarle amor a lo que enseñaban. Con ellos aprendí a aplicar todo lo que veía en clase a mi día a día. Gracias a ellos estudié y me enfoqué en las cosas que sé y que hago ahora, lo cual me ha abierto muchas oportunidades y me ha hecho muy feliz. Yo espero ayudar a mis estudiantes a cumplir sus metas y transmitirles lo mismo que aprendí de mis profesores, pasión por lo que uno hace.
  
  ENGLISH:
  When I was in school, although I was doing well, I saw many subjects that did not make much sense to me, they were boring, and I took them only as an obligation. When I started the tenth grade, I met two teachers, an English teacher, and a chemistry teacher, and they changed my perspective. They both used different teaching methods, but they both made me love what they taught. With them, I learned to apply everything I saw in class in my day to day life. Thanks to them, I studied and focused on the things I know and do now, which has opened many opportunities for me and made me very happy. I hope to help my students achieve their goals and transmit to them what I learned from my teachers, passion for what one does.

• ¿Qué es lo que te hace sobresalir como profesor o profesora?

  Lo que me hace sobresalir como profesora es que, incluso si debo enseñar los mismos temas a estudiantes distintos, nunca los enseño igual. Cada persona tiene una forma distinta de aprender, tiene habilidades, cualidades y propósitos únicos, por lo que nadie va a aprender exactamente de la misma forma que otra persona. Mis clases se adaptan al estudiante, busco la mejor forma con la que éste pueda entender, aprender y disfrutar de su clase, mientras cumple con sus objetivos.
  
  ENGLISH:
  What makes me stand out as a teacher is that, even if I have to teach the same topics to different students, I never teach them the same. Each person has a unique way of learning, has unique abilities, qualities, and purposes. No one will learn in the same way as someone else. My classes are tailored to the student. I look for the best way with which the student can understand, learn, and enjoy its class while meeting its objectives.

• ¿Qué haces en tus tiempos libres?

  En mis tiempos libres me gusta hacer muchas cosas como por ejemplo nadar, hacer caminatas en lugares naturales, viajar, leer, aprender algo nuevo, hacer manualidades, bailar, pasar tiempo con mi familia y con mis amigos y pasear a mi perro.

  In my free time, I like to do many things such as swimming, hiking in natural places, traveling, reading, learning something new, doing crafts, dancing, spending time with my family and friends, and walking my dog.
