About Emily
I have a great passion for teaching and have wanted to be a teacher since elementary school. I am currently in my last year of college at the University of California, Irvine earning my degree in Educational Sciences and teaching certification. I will be graduating in June. After graduation, I will return to the Kumon I have worked at for the past six years and buy into it with the current owner. I will continue tutoring and substitute teaching on the side.

- I get to know my students and help them feel comfortable so that our sessions are less strange for them and they can focus on learning
- A typical lesson plan of mine would be to review what they learned in school, ask questions, and teach another method for the lesson if necessary, then move to homework and extra practice to ensure they are understanding. Next session, I will begin by following up on what we last covered.
- I have lots of experience teaching students of every grade level from preschool through 12th grade. Working at Kumon for 6 years has allowed me to master many subjects and teaching patterns
- I can confidently tutor students k-12 in English and k-9 in math. After 9th grade, math depends on the subject.
