About JR
In my career, I have worked with students at all levels, from level zero beginners with the language to PhD level writers. I have published my own work as a writer as well. My many years of tutoring, writing consulting, and professional writing combined with my ESL training have led me to a tutoring style that is effective, efficient, and exciting.

In my lessons, we begin by establishing the goals the student has for our work together. Each student has a unique situation, and I take care to make sure that we work towards those goals. I also try to figure out where the student is in their development with the English language, to see what strategies might be most beneficial. It’s also very important to me to be able to relate to students on a personal level. If we can connect that way, it brings a deeper significance to our work.
