About DJ
I currently reside in Knoxville, Tennessee but grew up in Denver, Colorado. I live with my fiancé and two kitties, all three whom I adore dearly! I love reading and writing, and have even had a few poems and short stories published in literary magazines. I have a deep passion for making education equitable for all students, no matter what their background may be.

I love working with students individually as I have 4+ years of experience doing so, both in private tutoring and teaching at an accredited institution. I like to craft my lessons to meet the needs of the student while also helping maintain their interest. In my lessons, I love to incorporate student interests and meeting them where they are at. I work with students from grades 6-college on all forms of writing/English, but primarily with academic writing/expository writing.
