About Ava
I have recently returned from China where I taught English to students of various ages, ranging from 2-18 years old. Due to this wide age range as well as students' varying abilities I can provide lessons that cater to the individual student or students based on their English level. I have over four years experience teaching English as a Foreign Language.

I try to pay attention to the student's individual requirements as much as possible. The content of my sessions will vary depending on age, current language proficiency and to some extent the student's interests. I focus mostly on improving oral English skills and acknowledging and correcting grammatical errors. I have previously studied French and Spanish and am currently working towards the next level for Mandarin Chinese proficiency. These language skills help me to better recognise when and why my students are having trouble with a particular area of English grammar.
For younger students I have an extensive arsenal of tried and tested games and activities. I focus on building vocabulary as much as possible in a fun way whilst paying close attention to pronunciation. The more engaged students are in their lessons the better the results.
For older students I believe the teacher student relationship is very important. The more familiar I am with the student's personality and interests, the more engaging the classes will be for them.
I am able to tutor online or in person near Tamworth. Ideally ages 3 - 15 from absolute beginner upwards.
