About Ari
Hi!
I am glad you found my page. My name is Ari Cohen. I am a junior at Brandeis University studying English and art history. As someone who has always had a love for reading and writing, I hope to inspire others to appreciate and cultivate these skills as well. I have written compositions in a plethora of mediums and lengths, for which I have earned stellar grades. In addition to writing, I have encountered a variety of texts spanning from Old English poetry to contemporary multimedia texts. and analyzed them through many literary theories. Often students in high school receive limited instruction in how to successfully read and write on an analytical level, leaving many students frustrated. However, I believe with my expertise and your willingness to learn as a student we can make great strides whether on summer assignments or personal skill goals. I cannot wait to meet you!

After having taken many English classes with many different styles of teaching, I have found the most successful method to be focusing on the needs of the student and helping them appreciate the subject in a supportive environment.
A typical lesson would consist first of questions and objectives from the students, supplementary activities I bring in to help the student complete the assignment, and finally, how these techniques might apply to future assignments and or future chapters in a more reading-based scenario.
Although I may be able to help college students, my advice is best suited for any student from middle to high school who aspires to improve their verbal skills and excel in their humanities classes.
