About Erica
I grew up in a small ranching community in Wyoming (USA), and have built a career as a research ecologist, working on conservation science around the globe. After completing my undergraduate degree from the University of California Davis, I earned my doctorate in Ecology from the University of Western Australia. Throughout my career, I have continued to foster a love for writing, publishing academic research papers, receiving awards for editorial pieces, and collecting/writing poetry and prose of my own. I have worked professionally as a proofreader and academic writing coach since 2020, and am often found curled up in my library at home with a cup of tea and a journal.

I have always held an immense passion for literature & writing, and have now built a business around tutoring students in writing and English literature. With experience helping everyone from elementary, middle, and high school students, to doctoral candidates working on their dissertations, I have a great deal of experience teaching all skill levels. My approach is hands-on, and student focused, with structured lessons paired with “roll-up-your-sleeves” work on your assignments.
As an artist and a nature lover, outside of work, I am often found exploring some new corner of the world with my watercolors and my two darling puppies. Please feel free to reach out - I look forward to being part of your writing journey!
