About Lydia
I am a student (currently MA, 1st class BA from the University of Bristol) who has had experience working with children and teenagers at summer camps and as a student mentor. I have a valid DBS and enjoy working with young people.
As a university student for nearly four years, I have an excellent standard of written and spoken English, and know the trials and tribulations of learning a new language having learnt French for a few years.
Working as a supervisor in summer schools in the UK I worked as a mentor for students, encouraging their learning and helping them with homework tasks. This experience has taught me a patient and friendly manner that gets results for young people.

My teaching method is mainly using conversation based on set topics I have come up with (depending on language proficiency level of the student) to facilitate language learning through encouragement and thorough feedback. Students are also welcome to submit short written pieces to me which I am happy to mark and discuss in the next session. I will also offer suggestions of reading/ tv shows/ radio programs that are suitable for the age group and language level of the student to help them improve more casually in their own time
