About Ida
I am a recent graduate with degrees in both English Literature (BA) and Modern European Philosophy (MA). During A-levels, I worked part time offering academic support for younger students in all humanities subjects. At university, I frequently proof-read essays and dissertations for my co-students, many of whom were from overseas and needed support both with the English language and with the structure and argument of the essay.

Hello! My name is Ida, I have recently finished my MA in philosophy at Kingston University, London, and will be starting a Ph.D. in October 2019 also at Kingston, and also in philosophy. I have a long background mentoring fellow students in all humanities subjects, as well as proof-reading essays and dissertations. I offer lessons on anything to do with philosophy, English language and literature, critical thinking and creative writing - from planning and proof-reading essays/dissertations to giving structured lessons on grammar, specific literary/philosophical texts/fields/periods. I would love to support any age range, from GCSE's to A-levels and to university level. Please see the CV section for details on my specific academic interests and experience.
My overall aim with any student is to inspire interest in the subject area, as I believe that this is the vessel to academic success. I implement an empathetic student-centred teaching method, tailoring each session to the individual student and her or his needs.
I offer structured lessons with a clear outline of the purpose of each session. I work from an example/practice based method, guiding the student through a text or extract, in order to develop a meaningful interpretation of it, as well as to assess the value of such interpretation.
Should you have any questions or queries, please feel free to get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you.

Ida is my classmate in the philosophy department in Kingston University. As a foreign student, I met difficulties in writing essay. Ida did not only correct of grammar and vocabulary patiently, but also read my essay closely and gave many helpful comments and advises, which enhanced my ability of essay writing in English. Her professional knowledge in English literature and philosophy and warm personality make her a qualified tutor, I strongly recommend her truly and honestly !
Having researched together at the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, I have seen first-hand Ida's intelligence and kindness. Her academic background and achievements in English Literature and Philosophy highlight her capacity to read literature texts with theoretical rigour in original and creative ways. Similarly, her interdisciplinarity underscores her breadth of knowledge. One of her key strengths is the ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear and accessible manner. I have no doubt that as a tutor Ida will be patient and caring, helping to harness her student's capacities to think, write, and read with depth, creativity, and clarity. Though Danish, she has more warmth and humour than Scandi-Noir would suggest. I highly recommend her.
