About Lydia
I am a patient, caring, empathetic, understanding, bubbly tutor. I care deeply about my students' progress and have helped bring students from a grade 3 to a 5 and even a 6 before. I am good at building up confidence and maintaining a positive rapport with my students. I have worked as a tutor for the past three years, working with students of various age groups and abilities. I am adept at tailoring my lessons to my student's learning needs and learning styles. I specialise in working with students who have additional needs.

I take on a holistic approach to tutoring-I care about my students as individuals with their own strengths, weaknesses, goals, dreams and learning styles. I adapt my lessons to each individual student's needs. My lessons last one hour, but I can go up to two if necessary. I have worked at Magikats Tuition Centre, St Anne's, Red Robin Learning (Remote, London-based), ClassTutor (Remote, Birmingham-based), Sherpa Tutoring (Remote, Marlow-based) and tutored voluntarily for Mental Health Notebook online for six months. I achieved a 9 in GCSE English Literature, an 8 in English Language, and got 8 other GCSEs besides (10 in total), plus a Distinction in my Spoken Language examination. I achieved an A in A-Level English Literature and passed my other subjects. I had an unconditional offer to Lancaster University, and I am on track for a 2:1 when I graduate in July 2026. As a patient, gentle and understanding tutor with additional needs myself, I have found working with SEN students massively rewarding and have found my specialism in working for them. I work with ages 4 to 18, and I am happy to help out with Primary Maths as well as Primary English.
