About Jayne
I am a tutor of English and also violin, viola and trumpet. I run creative writing/poetry/rap workshops in my local area with an aim to bring people of all ages and abilities together through the medium of wonderful words.

As a teacher I feel that building the confidence of my learners is of paramount importance since this provides the strongest foundation for successful learning. I do my best to create a positive working environment where pupils are not afraid to ask for extra help if they find something tricky. I can then be flexible, recapping or adapting my plan to best fit the student. This can also help to inform my future planning, allowing me to differentiate for individuals where necessary. As well as quizzes, essays or tests, I believe that regular chats with pupils about their progress is a most valuable way of assessing their advancement - it gives the individual an opportunity to take ownership of their studies and feel more responsible for their own learning goals.
