About Laura
I've been involved with aiding young adults in education for a multitude of years, beginning when I was an A-level student. I would regularly attend GCSE student classes during my free periods to help teaching staff and offer support to young adults. I studied English at A-level and then went on to specialise in the subject at university where I studied topics including:
-Poetry (Modern & Romantic Period)
-Critical Theory
-Shakespeare
-Sociolinguistics
-Pyscholinguistics
-Pragmatics
I am extremely confident in this subject and feel that I am able to help and guide students to reach their full potential when studying English at any level.

I give lessons to any and all primary, secondary and A-level students who are requiring an extra push. I'm fresh out of university so connecting with students has always been fun and enjoyable because we are aged so closely together which allows for a much more relaxed and understanding environment as I was in the same position only a few years ago. Lessons are extremely personal and focus on what the students' needs are. The first lesson is always introductory, I like to find out what the student feels they are struggling with and what ways they believe they learn best. After this, lessons consist of a multitude of exercises that will expand the students' knowledge and growing their confidence within the subject.

The rate shown applies to GCSE level students only. Primary school student rates are £14/hr and A-level student rates are £23/hr. My cancellation policy is a minimum of 4 hours notice before the allocated lesson time.
