About Abbygail
I studied at an international school in Malaysia and am currently a university student in the UK. As someone who has learnt and mastered English in a multilingual environment, I understand the challenges of English as a second language and can effectively help ESL students improve fluency, confidence, and academic performance.
I am an IB English Language & Literature Higher Level A* graduate with a strong passion for literature and academic writing, recognised through essay awards and academic achievements. My tutoring approach is student-centred and structured, focusing on building confidence alongside strong academic skills. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style, ensuring concepts are clearly understood rather than memorised.
I use a mix of guided discussion, targeted practice, and exam-style questions. For English, this includes close text analysis, essay planning, improving written expression, and developing effective revision and exam techniques. I emphasise clear explanations, constructive feedback, and active participation to keep lessons engaging and effective.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though shorter or longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
I am an IB English Language & Literature Higher Level A* graduate and a current university student, with prior experience tutoring English. I teach students up to Year 10, supporting a range of abilities—from those needing extra help to students aiming to excel.
