About Zahra
Hi there! My name is Zahra and I am 18 years old (soon to be nineteen). Although I am quite young, I have excellent marks in my English and French. I finished high school at 17 and decided to take a small break from schooling in order to find my footing in this world as an individual. I am currently working in the childcare sector (volunteering at hospitals, safehouses for abandoned babies, tutoring young children) as well as starting my studies again this year, 2024. I am also an extremely creative person and will draw on any surface I am given. I have decided to tutor French and/or English because I honestly love words and language. These are necessities in connecting with other people.

In school I found it hard to channel my attention in a lesson where the educator would not engage with us students, but rather redundantly go through the syllabus. Young kids are extremely imaginative and instead of seeing it as an obstacle I try to make my lessons as interesting as possible, using tone and register that young kids can fully comprehend. English is a subject that can teach us a lot (rules and regulations of language in general, comprehending great philosophical lessons through Shakespeare or through great modern pieces of literature.) In also teaching French there are many links with the two languages, the structure of the past tense (passè composè), future tense (le futur) and many words in French have similar sounds or spelling to the word in English. French in itself is also the second most spoken language globally, and therefore can be extremely useful when going to a French speaking country.
