About Alison
I left the corporate world in 2011 to follow my own true passion of teaching after volunteering at a home for vulnerable and neglected children. I was saddened at how many South African children aged 12 still did not have a basic knowledge of English to enable them to read. I also volunteered to teach English skills to a group of young boys from a local township so they could improve their overall marks at school. You cannot study any subjects and do well if you don't have a basic understanding of English. I qualified with 35 distinctions through UNISA - my specialties being English and children with special needs. I am very patient and able to help young people reach their full potential. Also assisted in classrooms on a one-to-one basis, helping children who were falling behind in their lessons. Did two years scribe work at a school for special needs children.

Learning to love English and the experiences you get to gain knowledge by becoming an avid reader with commitment will take you far in life. Lessons include basic grammar and sentence structure. Please note that lessons are predominantly aimed at basic level and for foreign speakers wishing to learn communication. Passionately believe that without a good background in reading and writing, it is difficult to participate in the joys of life and the imaginary worlds it can take you.
