About Julia
I am now also focusing on Teaching English as a Foreign language and Business English and also focusing on teaching adults to gain more experience to teach at a adult Business English language school abroad. Bundle lessons for adults learning English will be discounted if you send me a message. I am soon to complete my 230 hour TEFL certificate having completed 200 hours so far.
I have 6 years experience teaching at Crimson Education and Mytutor to school students. IB and GCSE students in English, Biology and Geography so I have extensive teaching experience. I am a native English speaker born and raised in London, UK.
I studied Global Sustainable Development at the University of Warwick. My degree allows me to engage with interdisciplinary topics and work across faculties. This has allowed me to discover the world in an array of interesting academic perspectives.
I have over years of tutoring experience both online an in person. I tutored 2 years in person at a tuition centre before COVID gaining experience in teaching a small group of students. I was a senior tutor at my tuition centre and was responsible for mentoring new tutors who shadowed my lessons to learn how to tutor effectively. I now mainly teach classes online to sixth form/ high school student around the world.
I enjoy taking on the challenge of teaching older students to support them in tackling their examination years of GCSE and International Baccalaureate. My favourite subject to teach is English Literature and English Language as in combines the creativity of students with academic rigour of communication and analysis.
I tailor the scheme of the work according to my students' needs to prioritise student understanding over simply covering content. My lessons are designed to allow the student to gain a better grasp of their subject to learn and enjoy in the process of refining their skills and to tackle their exams and coursework.

My teaching method is often based on the Socratic Method. I will ensure that I give the base knowledge to the student then use tailored questions to engage them with the material and try to reach an answer themselves. I will then add in anything to further develop their answer or fill in any blanks.
