About Frank
I am a results-driven civil engineering student at the University of Central Florida. During high school, I faced a difficult period after the loss of a parent, which caused me to fall behind academically. That experience had a real impact on my grades and my approach to school at the time.
However, I was able to turn things around through consistency, discipline, and a renewed focus on my education. By rebuilding my fundamentals and developing better study habits, I worked my way back to my full academic potential.
That experience shapes how I tutor today. I understand what it’s like to struggle, fall behind, and feel stuck, but I also know that with the right approach and support, improvement is always possible. Whether you or your child needs to catch up or get ahead, it is never too late to make meaningful progress.

My approach as a tutor is centered around building a strong understanding of fundamentals and turning that into consistent results in class. I focus on identifying exactly where a student is struggling and addressing those gaps directly, rather than just helping them complete assignments. Once the foundation is solid, everything else becomes much easier, and progress happens quickly.
In terms of teaching method, I keep sessions structured and interactive. I start by briefly reviewing previous material to reinforce retention, then introduce or revisit key concepts in a clear, simplified way. After that, the majority of the session is focused on guided practice, where the student actively solves problems while I provide feedback and correct mistakes in real time. I emphasize repetition, pattern recognition, and test-taking strategies so students not only understand the material but can apply it under pressure.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in and review, followed by focused work on a specific topic or problem area. We then move into practice problems that gradually increase in difficulty, and finish with a short recap and, if needed, a few targeted problems to reinforce learning between sessions. This structure ensures each session builds on the last and leads to measurable improvement over time.
What sets me apart is that I treat tutoring as a results-driven process rather than just extra help. I track progress, focus on the most impactful areas, and adjust sessions based on what the student actually needs. My goal is not just to help students get through their current class, but to help them understand the material in a way that builds confidence and carries over into future courses.
My lessons are designed primarily for high school students, including those taking Algebra, Geometry, and Precalculus, as well as students who need support in English or Spanish. I work with a range of levels, from students who are struggling and need to rebuild fundamentals to those who are aiming to improve their performance and stay ahead in their classes.
