About Nicole
I am a second-year Electrical Engineering student with over 3 years of tutoring experience. My background includes tutoring high school subjects such as Grade 11 & 12 Functions, Grade 12 Calculus, and Physics, as well as some first year university-level courses such as Calculus and Linear Algebra. I also have experience teaching coding to beginners, in Java and Python, helping students prepare for junior programming competitions like the Beaver Computing Challenge. What makes me different as a tutor is my ability to break down challenging concepts in a simple and approachable way. I am passionate about teaching and strive to make each lesson engaging and effective. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to succeed.

I focus on providing a personalized and adaptable tutoring experience. My teaching methodology revolves around breaking down complex concepts into clear, easy-to-understand explanations. I make sure to include plenty of practice problems, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned, and I prioritize review to ensure full understanding before moving on to new material. A typical lesson plan includes an initial breakdown of the concept, followed by guided practice problems to reinforce learning. I also dedicate time to review areas where the student may feel uncertain and answer any questions they have. What sets me apart as a tutor is my friendly and approachable nature. I want my students to feel comfortable sharing what they find difficult and to ask as many questions as needed without feeling hesitant. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel supported and confident in their abilities. Who are my lessons for? Students in: - Middle/High School level math: Functions, Calculus, Data Management - High School level physics - Any students interested in coding: from beginner to first year university level (Java, Python, C, C++)
