About Myles
I am an Engineering Student at the University of Victoria. I have a passion for helping others, especially when it comes to math. I am very comfortable working with all youth, from 6 to 17 years old through my experience working at a summer camp. I am big on taking the time to understand how each student thinks, and using that to translate my knowledge into something they will understand.
I believe nobody is "bad at math". They just need concepts to be explained in a way they understand, and with a little bit of perseverance, math can be changed from something they dislike to something they love.

I like to take a more personal approach to tutoring, in which I take the time to understand how each student thinks. This allows me to translate my knowledge into a language that each student can understand. I am comfortable tutoring middle school and high school math, up to Calculus. Typical sessions involve setting a session goal, and then working through the content together at a comfortable pace. I like to explain the background of a concept before jumping into problems, while encouraging students to think critically about how to solve problems.

I needed some help with Pre-Calculus concepts like factoring, graphing, and simplifying complex polynomials. Myles was very helpful. He has a great understanding of the topics, has a fun personality, and made sure I wasn't just relying on him to do all the work for me. I came out of the session with a much better understanding of the topics we worked on!
