About Vlad
I am a tenacious and driven Civil Engineering student with a variety of experience teaching Maths to any students from Y4-Y11. Coming to the UK at age 12 with little English speaking ability, I started at the bottom of the class, and moved my way up using all the support from my teachers and peers, achieving an 8 in GCSE maths and A* at A level. What started as a part-time job became an opportunity to give back the knowledge I have accumulated over the years, and further develop my soft skills. I pride myself on being approachable, reliable, and patient, fostering a supportive learning environment where students can build confidence and excel in mathematics.

With five years of tutoring experience, starting at a tuition centre and expanding to private clients, I bring strong subject knowledge and relatable exam techniques to my lessons. Before starting, each student takes a benchmark test to identify strengths and areas for improvement. This test is repeated every eight weeks to track progress and ensure topic retention. My teaching follows a structured framework: starter questions, topic explanation, practice exercises, and tailored homework. This flexible approach allows me to adapt to individual needs effectively. Lessons typically last 90 minutes, providing ample time for thorough learning and practice.
