About Abyan
I am a first-year MEng Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Sheffield, currently achieving first-class marks. I have over two years of tutoring and academic mentoring experience, especially with GCSE students aiming to improve their confidence, accuracy and exam performance.
I achieved grade 9s across all GCSE subjects, including Maths and Further Maths, and scored 90%+ in both GCSE Maths and GCSE Further Maths. I have helped GCSE Maths students improve from around grade 5 to grade 8/9 by focusing on clear explanations, targeted practice and exam-board-specific feedback.
I enjoy tutoring because I like turning confusing topics into clear, repeatable methods. My style is patient, structured and mark-focused: I aim to help students understand the topic, recognise common exam traps, and know exactly what to do differently next time.

I offer online GCSE Maths lessons for students who want clearer explanations, better exam technique and more confidence with problem-solving. I aim to give students an accurate strategy they can confidently apply to their exams.
I specialise in Edexcel GCSE Maths and AQA GCSE Further Maths, plus maths-heavy Physics and Chemistry questions where useful.
I have over two years of tutoring and academic mentoring experience. I have helped GCSE Maths students improve from around grade 5 to grade 8/9, and I achieved grade 9s across all GCSE subjects myself, including 90%+ in both GCSE Maths and GCSE Further Maths.
My lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I'm happy to arrange shorter or longer sessions. Lessons are built around the student’s weak areas: we can work through topics, past-paper questions, homework-style problems or questions the student has already attempted. I focus on identifying exactly where marks are being lost, then giving clear correction steps and repeatable methods to score those marks next time.
I can also mark students’ GCSE Maths work outside lessons, giving exam-board-specific feedback, corrected solutions and clear targets for the next attempt.

Short homework or topic sheet: £4
Full GCSE Maths paper with corrections: £15
Detailed correction, targets and optional short explanation: £22
Written feedback prices are based on the amount of work sent and the level of detail requested. If the work is unusually long, I will confirm the price before starting. The free first lesson is used as an introductory diagnostic to understand the student’s aims, weak areas and exam board.
