About Nathan
I am an Industrial Engineering graduate from South Africa. I have a background in the Cambridge syllabus, which I studied in school. I have over two years of experience in tutoring, where my students have achieved significant academic progress. I am friendly and approachable, seeing tutoring as an interactive conversation rather than a monotonous lesson.
I aim to help my students build confidence and genuinely understand the learning material so that their success continues throughout their academic career.

During my time studying engineering, I delved deeply into the science of learning. Creating mental schemas to structure new concepts, promoting active recall and using the Feynman technique are all core principles in my learning model.
In addition, I teach my students best practices to study and recap the information that they have learnt.
My typical lesson length ranges from one hour with a five-minute break for my younger learners to an hour and a half for my older learners.
I have experience in teaching students from 12 to 18 years old in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, English, Geography and Afrikaans. I will be focusing on Mathematics over the next school term.
I have over two years of experience in tutoring, during which time I have been able to help my students dramatically improve their grades and permanently improve their approach towards learning.
In addition, I have recently returned from a two-month contract, working at a Summer Camp in the United States. At camp, I supervised a bunk of nine 9-year-old campers, taking responsibility for their daily activities, safety, and well-being. I also taught rock climbing to campers ranging from 6 to 16 years old.

I met Nathan a few months ago, working at a summer camp in the US. He was part of my team at ropes and climbing area.
